Thats right ladies and gentlemen! We're ready to open ourselves up and start accepting submissions. The following guidelines remain true, not only for poetry, but for ALL submissions.
Direct all submissions to dank@funkyemail.net
Submissions can include, but are not limited to:
- Poetry
- Short Stories (no more than 3 pages please)
- Graphics/artwork (please contact us for picture size and types accepted)
- Opinions (this meaning your personal opinion on something going on in the world today or if your just feeling like talking about something personal [like a story] you can submit that as well)

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
By submitting your poetry to Dirt, you agree that:
• Submissions made to Dirt are your own original poems.
• Copyright remains with you, the poet.
• You grant permission for us to archive your poem(s) on our website.
• Dirt WILL NOT enter negotiations with outside parties in regards to the use of a poem that has appeared on our website, as we are not a representative agent.
• Dirt DOES NOT guarantee that your submissions will be published.
• Dirt DOES NOT offer any form of monetary compensation for submissions.
• The poetry you are about to submit is not bound by any legal agreements, terms and conditions, contracts and/or under offer to any other publications.
• Your poetry has been proofread THOROUGHLY prior to submission and you agree to the Poetry Editor making minor grammatical and/or spelling amendments, except in cases of obvious poetic license.
• The views and interpretations made in your poetry are your own, and are not necessarily representative of Dirt’s beliefs and ethos.
To ensure your chances of successfully being published at Dirt, please read our Guidelines:
• Publishing your poetry on Dirt is up to the discretion of our Poetry Editor and your commitment to adhere to any deadlines set by Dirt in cases where competitions/contests are in effect.
• Extracts from authors/poets other than yourself WILL NOT be accepted.
• Dirt is an eZine available to all ages of our literary community, therefore we WILL NOT accept any work with blatantly offensive material. This includes racially vilifying material, pornographic imagery, profanities, and/or slanderous material. Any sex or violence in a poem should be artistically justified. Our Editors may execute the right to refuse your submission without further notice if this is the case.
• The material you are submitting should be thoroughly proofread prior to submission. Spelling and grammatical errors found within a submission may be rejected by the Poetry Editor.
• Dirt WILL NOT be held liable for any copyright disputes in regards to your work being published on our site.
Submit a poem:
• The subject line should be “Submission” or the appropriate title or theme in cases where poetry competitions/contests are being held at Dirt.
• Attachments WILL NOT be accepted, this is strictly for privacy issues, emails with attachments will be deleted immediately. Please include your submission in the body of your email.
• Include your real name, a valid email address (for staff notification purposes), a pen name (if you’d prefer to use a nom de plume), a rough date of when your poem was originally written (year is fine), poem title, and of course, your poem.
Receipt of submissions:
• Our Poetry Editor will attempt to respond to your submission within 28 days of receipt. If you have not received an email notification, please don’t hesitate to email our Poetry Editor AFTER 28 days of submitting your work.

Until further notice, our callout for staff is closed. However, we are still accepting submissions.
Our submission deadline for each issue is the 15th of each month. Please ensure this deadline is met for a greater chance of being published at Dirt!

CALLING ALL WRITERS AND MORE!!!!
Welcome!
The blogging world is full of people who love to write, whether its a poem, short story, or just a journal entry - writing is what blogging is all about. So, why not make a community for the creative writer in all of us? The best way to make it happen is to start an e-zine.
What is an e-zine?
An e-zine is basically an online publication like a newsletter or a magazine designed for the creative genius in all of us. In order to start an e-zine there are a wide range of positions to fill.
The following is a list of positions we MUST have filled within a weeks time to get this moving. If you think you have what it takes to be apart of this, please tmail us or email us: dank@funkyemail.net
- Editors: Decide (through a "voting" process) what content will be presented and what category it will reside under.
- Critics: Critique the work presented. Only constructive criticism will be tolerated.
- Designers: Formats the layout of each page. This will position will only be available once the actual e-zine website is up and running.
- Graphic Artists: Design logo etc for the page/blog. This position is ready to fill now for any additions to the blog such as eye candy.
The rest is up to the submitters. The following is a list of guidelines you must follow when submitting work.
- You are free to submit poetry, short stories, small graphics/pictures, and anything else that might be considered a work of art/creativity.
- Poetry: Any form of poetry is accepted.
- Stories: Any type of story is accepted.
- Pictures/Graphics: Please no nudity. Also, please get in touch with an editor for information regarding size and type.
We hope to get this off the ground shortly and look forward to reading/viewing all of your work.
